It's going to be a scorcher out there!

Today is supposed to be an exceptionally hot day in the Northern Valley. The city of Corning has announced cooling zones that are available to the public for those of you who need a place to escape the heat.

-Corning Library, 740 Third St. is available from 2-6 p.m. today

-Corning Senior Center, 1015 Fourth St. is available from 8 a.m.-1 p.m today

Please keep cool, drink plenty of water (even when you don't feel thirsty), complete outdoor tasks early in the day, and take care of your pets and keep them cool, too.
