Dangers of fireworks

This afternoon, Corning Police Department officers assisted the Corning Volunteer Fire Department and responded to a report of a grass fire in the area south of Blossom Ave. The Corning Volunteer Fire Department quickly put the fire out, saving the area from a situation that could have quickly become much worse. The Corning Police Department contacted two subjects in the area who admitted to starting the fire. Corning Police Department asks the public to please be aware of the dangers of playing with fireworks, especially in these dry conditions.
